KEY STAGE 2. HISTORICAL COSTUMED WORKSHOPS

Victorians
Victorians (including Florence Nightingale)

A costumed insight into the lives of the rich and poor during Victorian times. We meet Florence Nightingale, historical figure and heroin, who tells us a little of her rich and privileged life and achievements and her memories of the Crimean War. We then meet Fanny Flanders, a ladies maid, who enlists the children's help with washing and ironing. She gives us a light-hearted insight into life below stairs. We then meet Miss Prunella Pitt, a strict schoolmistress. She teaches us some lessons...Beware! One child will have the opportunity to write on a slate using a slate pencil and they will be taught a Victorian hymn. Finally, we meet Tullulah de Triumph, a lovable music hall entertainer with a reputation to match! Tullulah teaches us two Victorian songs and tells us a few jokes. Children will be given the opportunity to dress up in costume and to join in with the Victorian songs. They will also be able to handle some Victorian artefacts.
